 이 모든 구절에서 “까지”(achri)는 신자의 태도나 그리스도의 통치에서 있을 미래의 변화를 제시하기 위해 사용되지 않았다. 의미하는 바는 분명하다. 사망 이후나 재림 이후에는 신자의 충성심에 어떤 변화도 발생하지 않는다. 즉, 이전의 상태를 뒤집는 것이 일어나지 않는다. “까지” 라는 접속사가 변화의 개념을 전달하는지 여부는 오직 문맥만이 나타낸다. 누가복음 21:24과 관련해서는 묵시적 설교 전체(눅 21장)가 예루살렘이 이전의 영광과 신정을 회복하리라는 것을 결코 의미하지 않는다. 그 러므로 “궁극적 성취 이외에 ‘이방인의 때’에 이은 속편은 전혀 그려지지 않았다는 것이 좀 더 합리적이다.”³⁷ (184.2)

 다니엘서는 “마지막 때까지”(단 9:26, 27) 예루살렘에 메시아적 영광이 없음을 의미하는 전쟁과 황폐함이 지속될 것이 선포되었다고 예언한다. 신약에 약속된 유일한 예루살렘 회복은 새 땅에 그의 신실한 백성들을 위한 수도로 하나님께서 친히 세우실 새 예루살렘뿐이다(계 21-22장, 제9장 참조). (184.3)
