2 Kings 14:21
And all the people of Judah took Azariah, which was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah. (2 Kings 14:21)
All the people.
This statement suggests a popular movement in which the whole nation was involved. When one king dies and his son comes to the throne, there is normally no need of mentioning the fact that all the people were involved. On a probable coregency of Azariah with his father, from the time of Amaziah’s capture (v. 13), see on 2 Chron. 25:27; 26:1.
