And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people. (Ruth 1:10)
Surely we will return.
 Social custom would have obliged the two young women to remain with Naomi and to lay their plans as she should direct. Verses 11 and 12 imply the additional custom that required a man to marry his brother’s wife and thereby perpetuate his brother’s name and family (see Deut. 25:5-10).
