Revelation 21:23
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. (Revelation 21:23)
No need.
Light-giving bodies will not be imperative for the illumination of the city. The glorious effulgence of the presence of God will give more than sufficient light (cf. Isa. 60:19, 20). Material things are not indispensable in God’s plan; in His presence they are put to shame (cf. Isa. 24:23). Created light cannot outshine the uncreated glory of the divine presence.
