Revelation 19:12
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. (Revelation 19:12)
Crowns.
Gr. diadēma (see on ch. 12:3). In the Bible diadēma is never applied to the reward of the saints. It is always the crown of royalty. In addition to the many royal crowns that Christ receives as King of kings, He also wears the chaplet of victory, the stephanos, since He too overcame Satan (see on ch. 12:3; 14:14).
His eyes.
See on ch. 1:14. As Christ goes forth, the great champion of eternal justice, nothing escapes His notice.
A name.
See on v. 11; cf. on ch. 2:17.
