O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them. (Psalm 9:6)

O thou enemy.
The first line of the verse reads literally, “The enemy—they shall be finished [consumed]—perpetual desolations.” The verse is a picture of utter destruction of the enemy.
