Psalm 78:63
The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage. (Psalm 78:63)
The fire consumed.
A picture of desolation: young men consumed in battle, maidens unmarried, priests slain (see 1 Sam. 4:11), the dead unmourned (see Job 27:15). Consider the desolation of a land in which there are no marriage ceremonies or proper funeral rites.
