Psalm 141:2
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. (Psalm 141:2)
As incense.
The incense of the sanctuary was carefully prepared (see on Ex. 30:34), kindled with holy fire, and presented to God. It was offered morning and evening by the priests upon the altar of incense (see Ex. 30:7, 8). The incense represented “the merits and intercession of Christ, his perfect righteousness, ... which can alone make the worship of sinful beings acceptable to God” (see PP 353).
Sacrifice.
Heb. minchah, properly denoting the oblation, or meal offering, that accompanied the daily burnt offering (see Ex. 29:38-42; see on Lev. 2:1).
