Proverbs 22:3
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. (Proverbs 22:3)
A prudent man.
There is an interesting contrast between the singular and the plural in the two parts of this verse: “prudent man” is singular and “simple” is plural. Farseeing men are rare, the simple are common.
