Philippians 2:24
But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly. (Philippians 2:24)
Trust.
Gr. peithō, “to be confident,” “to have confidence,” “to trust,” a different word from that translated “trust” in v. 19. There Paul hoped, here he has confidence, though both states of mind are centered “in the Lord” (see on v. 19). Apparently the apostle considered it distinctly possible that the Lord would soon overrule for his release from prison.
