Jonah 4:3
Therefore now, O Lord, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live. (Jonah 4:3)
Take … my life.
 How different is Jonah’s appeal to God from that of Moses, who, in the true spirit of self-sacrifice, was willing to have his name blotted out that his offending people might live (see Ex. 32:31, 32). Jonah gave way to complete discouragement.
