2 Timothy 2:17
And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; (2 Timothy 2:17)
Philetus.
Of him no further information is available in the Bible.

Canker.
Gr. gaggraina, “gangrene,” that is, a disease that eats away the flesh and continually spreads to other parts of the body. The loquacious word battlers (v. 14) and empty talkers (v. 16) feed on the attention given them.
