1 Chronicles 1:8
The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. (1 Chronicles 1:8)
Cush.
The Cushites inhabited Nubia, now part of the Sudan, anciently called Ethiopia (see on Gen. 10:6).
Mizraim.
The Hebrew name for the land or peoples of Egypt (see on Gen. 10:6).
Put.
Probably to be identified with the inhabitants of the land of Punt (see on Gen. 10:6; cf. Jer. 46:9; Eze. 27:10; 30:5; 38:5; Nahum 3:9).
Canaan.
See on Gen. 10:6. There is much evidence of an early connection between Canaan and Egypt.
