Rather, “upon their foreheads.” The divine name in the forehead is a symbol of ownership and authentication. The saints’ entire consecration in a life of worship to God is here stressed (see chs. 7:3; 13:16).

An expression denoting intimate relations with another person, and mutual confidence. See Ps. 17:15; Matt. 5:8; Heb. 12:14; 1 John 3:2. Compare the experience of Moses (Ex. 33:20-23).
