And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. (Revelation 19:9)

Literally, “genuine [ones].” The invitation is absolutely trustworthy; it can be depended upon.

These.

That is, the words of the invitation.

The Lamb.

Supper.

Gr. deipnon, the evening meal. The “marriage supper of the Lamb” takes place at the end of earth’s long day. See on Matt. 22:1-14.

Called.

That is, invited to the marriage feast (see on Matt. 22:14; Rom. 8:28).

Blessed.

Or, “happy” (see on Matt. 5:3).

Write.

He.

That is, the angel of v. 10.
