For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: (Psalm 78:5)
God purposed that His law should be taught from generation to generation and become a living power in the lives of the Israelites (see Ex. 10:2; 13:8, 14; Deut. 4:9; 6:7, 20).
