Psalm 119:45
And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts. (Psalm 119:45)
At liberty.
Literally, “in a broad place.” There is nothing restricted or narrow about obeying the law of God. It has been well said that obedience to law is liberty. There is no bondage in true holiness (see on Prov. 3:1). But to the unconverted man, God’s presence appears as a constant restraint, and God’s character an expression of “Thou shalt not.”
