Numbers 31:12
And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho. (Numbers 31:12)
The captives.
The conquest of this tribe of Midianites was complete. The “captives” were the women and children; the “prey,” the camels, oxen, sheep, and goats; and the “spoil,” the precious metals, jewels, clothing, etc.
The congregation.
Perhaps a reference to the 70 elders and the princes of the tribes, who represented the people.
The plains of Moab.
From where they had set out to give battle to the Midianites (see chs. 22:1; 26:3, 63).
