The purification of a leper is given in more detail than that of the purification for any other defilement. As the leper was excluded not only from the sanctuary but from the camp, there were two ceremonies included in the restoration. The first entitled him to reenter the camp and associate with his brethren. The second, a week later, was performed in the court of the tabernacle and restored him to full fellowship and to all the privileges of the covenant relationship.
