A reference to the command given to the tribes of Reuben and Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh (see Num. 32:20).

Hath given you this land.

As they had specifically requested (Num. 32:20-22).

Armed.

Before your brethren.

The members of the two tribes were to be an advance guard of the army of Israel. Compare the valor of Gad in ch. 33:20.
