They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:18)
Jesus here uses illustrations of such experiences as would normally result in serious injury or death, and promises the gospel messengers that, on many occasions, they will receive special protection, according to the Father’s will.
