This town was 15 mi. (24 km.) directly south of Medeba and 3 1/4 mi. (5 km.) northwest of Aroer, on the river Arnon. It was taken by Israel at an early period and rebuilt by Gad. It was here that the famous Moabite Stone was discovered in 1868. The site is now called Dhībân.
