Judges 5:18
Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field. (Judges 5:18)
High places.
These words probably refer to small elevations, or hillocks, on which the hosts of Sisera endeavored to regroup and defend their lines. The men of Zebulun and Naphtali, who, as observed from ch. 4:10, formed the main body of the Israelites, evidently carried these centers of resistance by storm, and thus brought about the complete rout of Sisera’s formidable army.
