And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. (Judges 14:2)
As was proper, Samson consulted his parents about his desire for marriage. However, this may have been prompted more by the fact that it was the custom for parents to arrange the details of marriage than by his respect for their wishes.
