Judges 13:3
And the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. (Judges 13:3)
Angel of the Lord.
This was the Angel that had appeared to Moses, Joshua, and others, and was none other than Christ (see EGW, Supplementary Material, on vs. 2-23).
Thou shalt conceive.
Some of the greatest men of the Hebrew nation were born of erstwhile barren women. Children like these were in a special sense the gift of God, and were given because the parents were fully devoted to the Lord and would rear them in such a way as to enable these children to be special instruments of the Lord in behalf of His people.
