And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the Lord be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath, (Deuteronomy 33:13)
Here are reference to the blessing pronounced on Joseph (see Gen. 49:22-26). A rich soil is predicted, which would in turn ensure a high standard of living. The land allotted his descendants was well watered. Various crops of choice grains and fruit thrived there. His cattle were to be vigorous and healthy. His military strength was to be great.
