Deuteronomy 3:24
O Lord God, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might? (Deuteronomy 3:24)
Begun to shew.
Moses was eager to witness the end of the conquest of Canaan, as he had its beginning.
Mighty hand.
See Joshua 4:24. The hand is a symbol of power, for it is the instrument by which power is exercised. It is translated “dominion” in 1 Chron. 18:3 and 2 Chron. 21:8.
What God is there?
Moses knew that other nations believed in a heaven peopled by many goods, but he knew that there was but one God; all others were figments of the imagination.
