Deuteronomy 28:53
And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee: (Deuteronomy 28:53)
Thine own body.
Better, “of thy womb.” For a similar dreadful curse see Lev. 26:29; Jer. 19:9; Eze. 5:10. This was fulfilled in the siege of Samaria by the Syrians (2 Kings 6:26-29), in the siege of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar (Lam. 2:20; 4:10), and again at the siege of Jerusalem by Titus.
