The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone. (Deuteronomy 28:36)
A state of complete apostasy. The nation would be abandoned by Jehovah, its king taken into exile with his people, and the people themselves ignominiously worshiping the idols professed by the nation by whom they had been taken captive (see Jer. 9:15, 16; 16:13).
