1 Samuel 13:2
Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent. (1 Samuel 13:2)
Gibeah.
Gibeah is now generally identified with Tell el-Fūl, a lookout point on the crest of the central range of mountains, 3 1/2 mi. (5.6 km.) north of Jerusalem. The ruins of what is believed to have been Saul’s fortress-capital there have been recently been excavated (see Vol. I, p. 124).
