1 Kings 8:56
Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant. (1 Kings 8:56)
Hath not failed.
Similar words were spoken by Joshua (Joshua 21:45; 23:14). God never fails. He has made many promises to His people, and He is faithful in carrying them out (Heb. 10:23). If men fail to receive the blessings that the Lord has promised to give them, it is because of failure on the part of man. The Lord had promised to give to Abraham and his seed the land of Palestine for an eternal inheritance (Gen. 12:7; Gen. 13:15; Gen. 17:8), but the descendants of Abraham after the flesh forfeited that inheritance because of their transgressions against the Lord (2 Kings 17:7-23; Jer. 7:3-15; Jer. 25:4-9).
