In ancient times men had at this altar worshiped the God of heaven, but for a long time it had not been used. Reverently Elijah brought together the scattered stones. There are many homes today in which the altar of God has been broken down. It is time that a work be done similar to that upon Carmel. At evening God’s children should reverently come together at the family altar for a period of quiet devotion. In the morning families should again unite in a season of prayer. The altar of prayer and devotion should be kept in constant repair.
