Psalm 3

1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. 9 I
2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. 3 I
3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. 39 I
4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. 14 I
5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me. 31 I
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. 25 I
7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. 5 I
8 Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. 43 I

Genesis 4

1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. 10 I
2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 10 I
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. 10 I
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 10 I
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 10 I
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 10 I
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 15 I
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 10 I
9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? 12 I
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. 10 I
11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand; 10 I
12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. 10 I
13 And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear. 12 I
14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. 10 I
15 And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. 12 I
16 And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. 10 I
17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. 12 I
18 And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech. 10 I
19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. 10 I
20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 10 I
21 And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. 9 I
22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah. 10 I
23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. 10 I
24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold. 10 I
25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. 14 I
26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord. 10 I

Luke 2

1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 2 I
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 2 I
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 2 I
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 4 I
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 4 I
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 8 I
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 8 I
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 3 I
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 4 I
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 8 I
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 4 I
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 2 I
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 2 I
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. 4 I
21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
