1 Kings 11:12
Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son. (1 Kings 11:12)
For David.
The Lord remembers His own, and out of kindness to them, extends mercies to some whose shameful course deserves no mercy. God is “merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy” (Ps. 103:8). In wrath He remembers mercy. For David’s sake the threatened judgment was deferred.
